One unforgotten Holiday

The year 2004 was specially difficult for me. In March my father died, after a long illness, and in summer, my wife and me decided to recover the old idea for traveling to Egypt. A few years ago, I had to abandon the trip because I fell seriously ill so I had to go into hospital for an appendix operation.
I wondered if the primitives beliefs of the Egyptian would be related by my own life, and I was going to search of course near of the bank to Nile´s River.

We arrived in first days of July to Luxor, in the middle Nile. The sunshine over the dessert impressed me, while I was embarking in the ship called Princess of Nile, we could see several balloons in the air above the sun. The next days, we was going to visit Egyptian Temples and I was surprised when I realized that one of the Pharaohs was a woman. Her name was Hatshepsut and I visited her tomb.
One other surprising event it was to could see the snake charmers was driving the terribly cobra. We was found one Egyptian Sculptors Workshop and we bought a Horus made by it.

The cruise had started and we watched the life around us, donkeys working in wells, fishing boats with their nets, people trying sell anything near of the ship. Very colourist and exotic landscape, It was flowed quietly mainly when we left Luxor.
The last night for arrived to Assuan, we got a costume party. We were dressed to arabs and we danced until the sunrise. This night we had discovered which Egyptian could smell as well as French fragancies. The secret was in the Oasys to Egyptian desert dedicated by the production of essences.

We set off early to visited the temple Abu Simbel, while the plane took off,  unfortunately my wife suffered the curse of the Nilo at the moment she began to vomit  above the flight assistent. Sunlight at dawn was  specially comforting.
We walked before by the great Dam of Assuan and the lake Nasser, and then we went to obelisk quarry, which in the past was ingeniously cutted for the Egyptian beds and they were transported  by the river at the tombs.

The next day, we sailed on the river and watched the hotel in which the famous Britsh novelist Agatha Cristie wrote Death on the Nile. On the other hand, in navigation we could watch the autoctonous ox of the river, cocodriles and the fertile silt in the bank of river.
We landed near to Nubian Village, and we ride in a camel to arrive.

The reception and the life in the Nubian Village was the most incredibly experience that we could dream. Children screamed for joy to our arrival and friendly people hosted us in their houses. This welcome was really amazing..

Finally, we left the Upper Nile by plane and arrived in the Bass Nile to the City of Cairo. We visited the Pyramids  and the Gizeh's Sphinx, close to that we visited the mummification chamber. I remember the descent into the burial chamber of Micerino´s Pyramid, the tourists  were so close and so sweaty  that they smelled at least as a pharaonic body.

People live in Cairo so fast. The chaotic traffic and the persons ran on contrasted with the patrol of the army troops for the Coptic quarter. On the last night, we ware invited a tipical party so that we watched a popular dance of whirling and one egyptian wedding.
That night, I was attached by the Curse of Nile, rather hight temperature, headhache, being sick and looseness. I was about to enter in hospital, but I achieved finally catch my flight.

If you drunk the water of Nilo, always do you come back to Egypt. Ancient Egyptians believed the dead come as the sun was through the desert from the city of the death.

Of the same way, the friends we have dropped off, somehow they will be coming back to us through the sun.

Furthermore we never be forgotten while their memories fade as well as the mist of the Nile river.

for Katcha, she obliged me to write in english
