In recent competitions for career officials of the Education Administration of the Community of Madrid, aspirant teachers have no basics knowledge (the level required for a student less than 12 years) in Language, Mathematics and Environmental Awareness.
Nevertheless everybody could think that it has been such a result for a veritable revolution in our education system, promoted by the politicians in general. So far nobody has raised their hand for responsibility, but citizens think deeply that this disaster is a revolutionary cultural change; which has been promoted in collusion by the linguistic nationalism and the revisionist old socialism.
Future teachers are no longer unmotivated students aware that mediocrity was the guarantee of survival. The school has become, for the most part, just a place for passing exams, never for debate, discussion or critical thinking. Anyway in the new school, the outstanding people have been ignored in favor a new manageable society, such as 'Ni-Nis' or upper qualified that, unfortunately, are working in ones that require lesser skills than they have.
The goals of recent grads and the guys dropped to school are either to work for the government or one of Spain’s top ten companies. The crisis has dumped them along the big line of unemployed. The easiest is here be worried about whether it’s difficult to build a business and why it takes time and money instead of get some grant to scratch along.
The don’t-take-risks mentality comes down from their relatives, who, more often than not, hate their jobs, but continue to cling to them because the job market in Spain is absolutely rigid.
The European philosophy of success by hard work and risk-taking, but to have respect for those that have gained success through acting craftily and cunningly, overall in the school, far to foster has been removed.
On the whole, spend cuts are being learned from the crisis in Spain and certainly no one seems to be getting more creative because of it. Only one part of the Spanish university grads are looking off overseas, causing a brain drain that could be irreparable if and when their home economy bounces back, after draining corruption and reaching unemployment peaks.
Indeed, this is the Spanish Counterrevolution.
